“Wouldn’t it be great if I could go straight from this guidebook to the internet!”
I said this to myself as I was reading a book about Poland on my Kindle during our Summer holidays.
I found that the guidebook was the best way to get an overview of the places that we were visiting on our holiday. But the internet was the best place to find detailed information and book accommodation & tours.
I wished that my guidebook included hyperlinks so that I could go straight from its descriptions to the websites of the hotels and attractions.
This is when I thought of writing short, focused e-guidebooks with hyperlinks about London.
Our first book – London for Christmas & New Year 2011
We wanted our first guidebook to help Londoners and visitors to enjoy their Christmas, Chanukah and New Year.
London has many seasonal events and attractions. It can be difficult to keep track of them all – especially if you have limited time.
We hope that this guidebook will make planning your festive fun easy and quick.
A London enthusiast
I fell in love with London at first sight when I arrived here from Australia, just after I left university.
As I looked out of the window of the aeroplane, I was captivated by the sight of the glittering city wrapped around the dark curves of the Thames.
When I explored London’s famous attractions, landmarks and charming neighbourhoods, I was amazed by what I found here – a nine-hundred year old castle, restaurants serving every imaginable cuisine, iconic paintings that I’d only seen in books and department stores as big as city blocks.
London still fascinates and enchants me. Because I live here, I have been able to meet people from across the globe and enjoy some of the world’s best music, art, theatre and festivals.
Writing about London has been a dream-come-true for me. I hope that you will share my enthusiasm for this wonderful city when you read our guidebooks.
